An optical sight has at least three optical lens groups, one is an objective lens group (Objective Lens), one is a correction lens group (Erector Tube), and an eyepiece group (Onicular Lens), and there may be other lens groups.

The objective lens group is responsible for collecting light, so when the objective lens is larger, the scene in the sight lens should be brighter. The eyepiece group is responsible for changing these lights back to parallel lights so that the eyes can focus and create the largest field of view. The correction lens group corrects the image of the objective lens from upside down and left to right, and is responsible for adjusting the magnification.

The sight line can be located at the first focus plane in front of the correction lens group or the second focus plane behind it. The wind deflection adjustment button, the height adjustment button and the magnification ring are all used to control the left, right, height and front and rear positions of the correction lens group. A good sight lens may have more than 9 lenses in the lens body, and its light transmittance may exceed 95% through appropriate coating.

However, even if the light transmittance is not so high, the brightness in the field of view may still be higher than that of the naked eye. Because the light collection area of the general objective lens is larger than the light collection area of the eye.

Method of use

[1] magnification adjustment. The zoom sight is marked with a scale on the lens barrel of the eyepiece. For example, 2-6 times will usually be marked with the positioning points of 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 magnifications. The triangular graphic positioning scale on the eyepiece can be rotated to align with the corresponding digital scale, but objects at different distances will be blurred at some magnifications, therefore, it is not necessary to accurately calibrate the triangulation scale on the number, as long as the visual object is clear.

The knob at the top has an arrow marked "up", that is, rotating the bullet point along the direction of the arrow will move upward. For example, for 5 rounds of shooting, the bullet point is all below the center of the cross. You can rotate in the direction of "up" and adjust it continuously so that the bullet point of shooting again will gradually coincide with the horizontal line of the center of the cross line.

The knob on the right has an arrow marked "L". This is to rotate along the direction of the arrow, and the bullet point will be corrected to the left. Similarly, for example, if the bullet point is shot in groups of five rounds, the bullet point will be offset to the right of the center of the crosshair and can be rotated in the direction of "L", so that the bullet point will gradually move closer to the vertical line of the crosshair.
